The principal activity of the ARM Tanzania is the production of Calcium Oxide commonly known as Quick Lime. It is produced from a chemical grade 96% pure calcium carbonate limestone, calcined in an oil fired regenerative vertical Kiln.
The resultant Quick lime is a product surpassing the minimum requirements of calcium lime class A, as defined in the Kenya Bureau of Standards Specification, KS 0297: 1982 and the requirements of British Standard BS - 890: 1995, CL 90.
One of the strong brand attributes is that it has very high limestone content; over 65% and indeed it is the best quality of lime you can find in the market now. Rhino Lime has several uses ranging from industrial to domestic namely;
- Drinking water treatment. Paper industry for paper bleaching and Paper Pulping
- Gold mining
- The Tanzania plant has a capacity of 20,000 ton per year used to service the Gold Mining, Sugar etc. A new vertical shaft kiln is being set up which would take the total capacity in Tanga to 60,000 TPA for manufacture of Lime.

Distribution and Sales
ARM can organize delivery of Rhino Quick Lime to any part of Tanzania and neighbouring countries. It is recommended that this be stored in a shed on timber pallets to clear off the ground and covered from the wind and rain to reduce deterioration from weather.
