  Sodium Silicate

Sodium Silicate is made by fusing Sodium Carbonate and sand at 125°C in a furnace. The state of the art furnace put by ARM has a capacity of 60,000 tpa.
The Sodium Silicate Division at Athi River with its subsidiary in South Africa Is ISO 9000-2001Certified for quality.

It is highly energy efficient and meets international quality and cost benchmarks.

Markets for Sodium Silicate expand beyond soap and detergent industry into corrugated paperboard, textile processing and construction products.

Today silicate is used in a diverse portfolio of applications e.g used in manufacture of high end catalytic cracking catalysts, palletizing ferrochrome coal.

It is also used as base for complex silica gels for removal of impurities from foods and beverages and for the manufacture of precipitated silica for tires, toothpaste, shoes, etc.

The environment friendly nature of silicate makes it the perfect solution for on and off shore drilling fluid applications as well as water purification.Silicate is also used in welding rod industry refractory and flocculation and flotation processes, oil drilling metal ore benefication plants etc.

Our highest priority is to manufacture and market products in a responsible manner that safeguards the health safety of our employees, customer's community and the environment we operate in.
